Sia has opened up about undergoing a weight loss procedure, liposuction, after admitting she was “insecure” and that being in the public eye was giving her anxiety.
The music star opened up about her journey on X, formerly known as Twitter, and has received support from fans over the globe as she asked them to ‘pray for her’.

Sia wants to be ‘truthful’ about her producers as she admits undergoing liposuction
Taking to X, the Unstoppable singer took to her 3.6 million followers to open up about the procedure, which she underwent earlier this week.
In a lengthy post to the platform, the 47-year-old explained how she had to previously taken medication that made her put on weight and was unable to shift it.
“Had to take a medication that made me put on a lot of weight that I just can’t shift with exercise or thyroid meds so I went in for lipo today,” she explained.
“Please know that I am so lucky to have the resources to change the way I look and that when you see me looking crazy foxy again that I want you to know it did not come from diet and exercise. I want to be truthful about all of my procedures so I don’t contribute to the system that tells us we aren’t enough,” the star continued.
Further on, the Australian singer opened up about the anxiety that comes with being in the public eye. She concluded: “I am insecure like most people and being in the public eye gives me anxiety, so I’ve made the choice to alter my appearance for my own confidence issues. Pray for me please! I love you, keep going!”
Sia has also been open about previous procedures she’s had done, admitting to a facelift onstage at the 2023 Daytime Beauty Awards earlier this year.
She exclaimed: “I’m a pop star that normally hides my face and doesn’t lie about s***,” before shouting out her surgeon who performed the surgery.
Fans praise the star for her honesty
As the singer opened up to her fans on social media and asked them to pray for her, they took to the comments to praise her for her honesty.
“Queen we love you how you are and you can you can do whatever makes you feel more confident we will love you in all your shapes and forms,” wrote one.
“Oh, Sia. You are beautiful no matter what you do. But, if this is what you want them as long as you are doing it for the right reasons then good luck with procedure and recovery,” penned another.
Another exclaimed: “The most genuine and honest celeb there is, this is why we love you, Sia!!”

Sia ‘doesn’t want to be famous’
Despite being transparent in this way, the singer is famously known for hiding her identity from the public, by wearing elaborate wigs or headgear.
She’s previously opened up about how she doesn’t want to be ‘famous’ or ‘recognizable’. In a piece for Billboard in 2013, wrote: “If anyone besides famous people knew what it was like to be a famous person, they would never want to be famous.”
Expanding further to Chris Connelly on Nightline, she explained how she didn’t want her life to be like her celebrity friends.
“I’ve been writing pop songs for pop stars now for a couple of years, and I’ve become friends with them and see what their life is like, and that’s not something I want,” Sia explained.
